An off-topic blog about TV Shows

More specifically...the ending of a really good TV series.

Friends is my all-time favorite TV show. In my opinion, it was the best-written comedy series of all time. There are arguments for Seinfeld, and to each his own. But for me, Friends is the best. I have seen the final episode at least 2 dozen times. I've even watched the entire series from pilot to finale twice - and every single time Rachel has her baby, Phoebe gets married, or they leave the apartment for the last time, I cry my eyes out.

That being said. Another favorite TV series of mine will be ending after this season. ER is ending after 15 seasons, and I'm prepared for the most emotional show finale ever. I say this because, through the years, when Dr. Greene died, and when Lucy died, and hell, when random sad shit happens, I've cried. This season, during the premiere, Dr. Pratt died. And I bawled. Then Abby left. Then they brought Ray back for an emotional episode with Neela. Then, tonight, they brought back Dr. Greene, Dr. Romano, Dr. Weaver, and Jerry, in an episode showing how one of the current doctor's children died. Another tear-jerker. So I'm 100% positive that the finale is going to make me just so sad.

And I want to say, that ER is possibly the best written drama ever. I watched on an off for the early seasons, but I haven't missed an episode in the last 5 seasons+, and the storylines have never been better. John Stamos has found the role of his lifetime, as far as I'm concerned. It's like this role was made for him. And I hate that the show will be ending, because its JUST SO GOOD.

My point is - Why do really good shows ever have to end? They never end leaving you happy. At least, not for me. When good shows end, all I want to do is cry, and wonder what happens to those characters after its over?

Oh. Yeah. I also cried when Full House ended.
